VisualDx is a “visual diagnostic decision support system” now available to University of Calgary members.
Covering more than 1,200 pediatric and adult conditions represented by over 25,000 images, VisualDx combines expert medical knowledge, standardized terminology, intelligent search, and high quality medical images to deliver concise and accurate answers. VisualDx allows physicians to search by diagnosis, build a patient-specific differential, or look up drug-induced adverse reactions by medication – all at the point of care. VisualDx Mobile shows disease variation with multiple images of each disease.
VisualDx Mobile is available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. Though it is an app, it does require a wifi connection. To get the mobile app, start from an U of C computer, launch VisualDx after entering it in the library search box. Click on “Get VisualDx Mobile” at the top of the page to register and receive an username and password via email. Go to the App Store or Google Play to download the app. Enter your new username and password when prompted.
